The prime objective of PEMA is to actively promote mutual assistance and cooperation amongst members of the Government agencies and private sectors and effective third party support on disaster control of major emergency in POIC Lahad Datu.

This mutual cooperation will enhance the roles of Government agencies in upgrading quality of fire prevention and disaster control, safety of the public, standard of teamwork and cooperation; which could contribute to the business success of each PEMA member company.

PEMA will conduct its operation on the basis of assisting in the following areas:

• i) Protecting employees and the public from injury and health hazards
• ii) Preventing loss and damage property
• iii) Safeguarding the environment

PEMA members shall response to the request of a PEMA member company whenever its emergency response teams cannot control the emergency using its own in0house resources.
