Intro:

Glycerine, also called glycerol, is today widely used in chemical industries and for medical purposes.


Abstract:

n China, glycerine is extracted in three ways, via a chemical method, by fermentation and through oil hydrolysis as well as alcoholysis. Figures over the past two decades indicate that local production of glycerine remained stagnant at 30,000 metric tonnes (MT) a year, far below the demands of the country’s fast growing economy. However, glycerine imports are growing hand in hand with China’s economy.
