Canada Watch: Canola, Soybean Supplies Up

Canada is becoming a formidable supplier of canola (rapeseed) to the global market. It is now the third-largest producer of canola after the EU and China and, at the current rate of growth, will likely soon surpass China.
Almost the entire crop is grown in the prairie provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, with much smaller amounts in Quebec and British Columbia. efforts are being made to get farmers to grow more canola crushing plant opened there last year, but thus far the effort has not been successful.
